social network focused on audio Clubhouse will allow users to send money and pay other content creators on the platform. The news was announced by the company.

All users of the application will be able to send payments through the platform, the company said. The monetization feature, available on Monday, will initially be available only to a small test group and will then be extended to the entire platform.

As a way of differentiating and attracting creators, the Clubhouse announced that 100% of the payment will go to the content creator. This benefit will be released to the speakers through the “Clubhouse Payments” resource (or “Clubhouse Payments”, in a looser translation). With this modality, “ordinary” users of the social network will be able to send values directly to the content creator, as a way to support their work.

The service has an even greater advantage for those who receive the money, since the Clubhouse states that it will not charge any slice of the amounts sent, that is, 100% of what is “donated” will be destined to the content creator. However, for those who make the payment, the same does not happen, and a fee will be charged, which, in turn, will be allocated to Stripe, the partner company that processes payments on the platform.

So far, Payments is only enabled for a small group of speakers for testing. The idea is to extend the resource to other influencers as adjustments are made to the system.

The Clubhouse requires newcomers to be invited by existing users before they can enter. The app saw its number of users skyrocket after Tesla’s chief executive, Elon Musk, and the president of online brokerage Robinhood, Vlad Tenev, held a surprise discussion on the platform.
