E-commerce, governance and infrastructure as the three pillars that sustain the digital economy, according to the expert in Digital Transformation, Morato Custódio.

Speaking on the panel “Digital Transformation and the Future of Cities in Angola” at the “Forum Angola Economic”, the specialist considers infrastructure as the pillar with the most development, since, currently, the country has a considerable number of Data Centers in development.

Angolan entrepreneurs, he said, have been, over the last 10 years, learning to develop products, startups, create companies and trade with few resources, and this gives resilience in the way of managing business, “at the level of digital commerce the situation has been on the right track”.

Morato Custódio highlighted the existence of a collaboration with the association of startups and digital businesses in Angola, where they have been working on the first law of startups in Angola.

Later this year, he said, the country could have the first startups law, which makes the governance effectively accelerate the steps and come close to reality.

In turn, the CEO of the company Tistech, Willian Oliveira, who addressed the decentralization of internet services, said that Luanda has a good connectivity base, and it is necessary to start a massive process of investment in infrastructure for other locations.

The manager also spoke about the importance of regulating services, adding that the issue of governance is relevant, as there are many entrepreneurs who are faced with a well-designed initiative but are lost at the time of implementation due to the lack of regulation that the east.
