Screenshots are really useful in any context. Whether you’re saving a recipe, an item to buy later, a piece of content to read, or a conversation to share, screenshots can add up and can make your Photos app feel a bit chaotic.
Additionally, there may be one or two screenshots that the user wants to hide, for whatever reason.
iOS 18 brought a series of new features, namely the ability to hide screenshots in the Photos app.
Step by step: how to hide screenshots?
First, open the Photos app on your iPhone and tap the Filter icon in the bottom left corner. Then, select Viewing Options and click Screenshots. With this option disabled, screenshots will no longer appear in the main library.
With screenshots hidden, the Photos app only displays the photos and videos you've captured, so you'll need to find the corresponding folder in your Photos app to access them.
After hiding screenshots, they are not deleted, they are just no longer shown in the main library.
To get your screenshots back to the main library, simply reselect Screenshots in the View Options.
