
The competition by the Angolan multinational SONANGOL, which aims to boost national entrepreneurship, has reached the provinces of Zaire and Huambo, with the aim of boosting local entrepreneurship.
Called “Sona Jovem 5.0 - Ideas that transform”, the program aims to equip young people with technical skills, behavioral and leadership competencies, so that they are prepared for the job market or self-employment.
In Huambo, the program's publicity event took place at the Manuel Rui Cultural Center and was attended by a large number of young entrepreneurs from the province's 17 municipalities.
The program coordinator, Edson Pongolola, explained that “Sonajovem 5.0” is being developed as part of the celebrations of the 50th anniversary of National Independence and the existence of Sonangol.
The official informed that young Angolans with initiatives focused on the sectors of Telecommunications and Information Technologies, Agriculture, Communication, Provision of Services, Renewable Energy, Minerals, Oil, Curricular Economics, among other areas, can apply for the program.

www.sonajovem.co.ao, by young people aged 18 to 40, including Angolans living abroad.
In the municipality of Soyo, the launch of the program was attended by representatives from various public and private institutions.
According to project analyst Rodrigo Pereira, around eight thousand applications have already been submitted nationwide, 21 of which are from the province of Zaire.
The action, he continued, comprises five phases, namely registration, screening, incubation and the final selection, in which 50 startups will be chosen to be monitored by Sonangol for a period of 12 months.
The project analyst said that the objective is also to promote, guide and educate young people so that they are prepared to master the tools of work and succeed in business. Rodrigo Pereira said that the project will be implemented in all provinces, in accordance with the policies of the National Development Plan (PND).
