The Chinese company Tencent became the first to be valued at more than 500 billion dollars and the fifth most valuable company in the world, surpassed the Facebook which now occupies the sixth position.
The company owns the WeChat, an application that adds the possibility of online payments and the exchange of instant messages, well known in Angola, became extremely popular in the China in the last years. In addition to the application, Tencent Holdings also has franchises for online games.
The profits of the company that owns China's largest internet services portal have increased, largely because of the popularity of its games for smartphones. Tencent has titles such as Honor of Kings, a fantasy game that has more than 80 million users.
The results have also been boosted by the WeChat application, which has 980 million monthly active users, and by Tencent Video, equivalent to YouTube, which is already the broadcast service with the largest subscriber base in China.
Facebook, worth mentioning, owns the WhatsApp, one of the most popular messaging apps in the world. However, Tencent is still one of the three stars of the Chinese technology market, disputing the space with Alibaba and Baidu. Alibaba, in turn, is expected to become the next to enter the $ 500 billion mark, as it is currently valued at $ 482 billion.
