Approximately five years ago, UNITEL had 75% of mobile telephony market share in Angola, against 25% for MOVICEL, thus demonstrating that the largest number of subscribers were with UNITEL, a scenario that has remained in recent years.
After this time UNITEL continued to grow, and in 2021 until the third quarter of the year, UNITEL had 90% of the mobile telephony market share, while MOVICEL had only 10%.
Until last year, the share of the mobile telephony market in Angola was held by two major operators, UNITEL and MOVICEL, but everything indicates that the scenario could change with the arrival of the fourth operator (AFRICELL) in our market which is already operational.

In the end, the end user, the customers, ultimately benefits from all this. Competition will certainly bring new services, more affordable prices, and a better choice for customers. It is certain that if the third mobile operator (Angola Telecom) were operational, the scenario would be different from the current one.
