This year Seedstars Luanda has grown in number of participants, moving from 51 applications in 2018 to 89 applications in 2019. Initially, 30 startups were selected and after the bootcamp, 10 finalists were found.

Cláudia Makadristo (Regional Director of Seedstars) spoke about the evolution of the event in Angola, being now in the 5ª edition.
He also focused on the advantages of participating in the event and the success stories in Angola, with the possibility for entrepreneurs to present their ideas to investors, and could earn up to 500 thousand Doláres in investments in the global event in Switzerland.

Several tons of waste are currently produced in Angola. Luanda is the most critical city due to overpopulation. Waste Less is an online platform where citizens can find recycling companies, sell their recycling materials or donate them.

8ª Startup: Twenda

If you travel around Angola, you will find that motorcycles are the most widely used means of transport, especially in rural areas. Twenda brings you the most economical and fast travel service through its motorcycle taxi app.

9ª Startup: Roque Online

The project inherited the name of what was once the largest informal market in Angola: Roque Santeiro. Roque Online connects the informal markets of the world, providing tools for suppliers and informal market service providers to trade on their own as a microenterprise.

10ª Startup: e-Bina

E-Bina intends to introduce cycling activities in Luanda's capital, making it easier and more environmentally friendly. Users will be able to rent bikes at a low cost using an app that will indicate the nearest locations and allow them to pay online.
