Meet the winning projects of OpenDataton Maputo 2017

In order to encourage innovative projects in Mozambique, the programming marathon was held OpenDataton Maputo 2017. The event had its opening on Friday, October 20 2017.

The event is an initiative of the Municipal Council with the support of the World Bank, and aims to create technological solutions based on free data, made available by the authorities of the city of Maputo.

After 34 uninterrupted hours, the app “+ LIFE", Which aims to assist in blood donation and blood type identification, was to the winner of OpenDataton Maputo 2017.Already in the second position, was the System of Control of Right of Use and Utilization of the Earth "SISCOD”. Still in dispute, the “IMP +"Won the third position, the application has the functionality to manage taxes. In fourth place was the "Maputo Health Care"Which helps identify the best hospitals, the location of health centers and their respective assignments.

Second Eva Clemente (World Bank Representative), the competitors lived up to expectations and were able to use their creativity to create useful technology tools for the country.

Moreover, Abneusa Stefania (Local project coordinator), stressed that the participants were focused and fulfilled the proposed tasks, also guaranteed that the contest winners will present the applications in the celebrations of the anniversary of the city of Maputo, and will have the necessary support to take the applications to the residents of the capital city.
