MenosFios office: 5 possible solutions if your computer battery is not charging

1938

If you usually work on a laptop computer, it is likely that you have already come across a warning multiple times that the battery is nearing the end of its life and that you need to connect the equipment to the mains. The worst thing is when you finally plug it in and the battery doesn't show any signs of life.

Sometimes the problem is something relatively simple to solve. For example, it is possible that you have not correctly connected the power adapter to the socket. However, depending on the case, it may require a little more work and, to help you, Lessfios Office Today, we present you with five possible solutions.

  • Check for faulty or “intrusive” cables and components in the charging port

Start by verifying that the problem is not related to the power cord itself that you use to give more power to the laptop. Make sure that the cable and its connector are not damaged and also take a look at the power adapter. It is also important that you examine the charging port carefully to ensure that there are no “intruders” such as dust or other debris.

  • USB-C charging ports require special attention

Got a laptop that uses a USB-C port as a charging port? If there's more than one USB-C port on your device, check to see if you're using the right one, or you've accidentally plugged the power cable into a port designed solely for data transfer.

  • Is the laptop battery removable? try to remove it

Another way to identify the source of the problem is to remove the laptop's battery, plug it in and try to turn it on. With the equipment turned off and disconnected from the current, remove the battery. Then press the power button for 15 seconds to discharge any residual energy. Now, plug the laptop back in and turn it on. If the equipment turns on normally, it is very likely that the problem is in the battery itself.

  • Is the temperature rising? let everything cool down

It is known that heat is the “enemy” of batteries and overheating can lead to serious problems. In this case, the best thing is to completely turn off the notebook and remove it from the mains. Let it cool down and once it returns to a stable temperature try charging the device again. If the computer and battery become too hot again, it is recommended that you call in a specialist.

  • Drivers may need an update
