MenosFios office: How Xiaomi's fast charging technology works

1904

Xiaomi has been testing the limits of technology to provide a top battery and charging experience with its HyperCharge technology. Faster charging speed and larger battery capacity are still a challenge for engineers. In a compact space, taking the Xiaomi 11T Pro as an example, it is not only equipped with a 120W fast charge, but also a 5000mAh battery.

But how is this achieved and how does fast charging technology work? At the Lessfios Office Today we show you how this technology works.

To achieve this milestone, Xiaomi uses a combination of a new charging structure, application of graphene in lithium-ion batteries and 3 combined technologies that results in the so-called HyperCharge system: MTW batteries, technology of MI-FC charge and technology LiquidCool.

The relationship between voltage and current is adjusted to improve the charging power. Dual charge pumps adjust voltage and amperage to achieve the perfect balance, reducing voltage and increasing amperage to overcome conventional voltage limitations and allow for greater power output.

Since a single battery is limited, the two-cell battery structure doubles the available input. On the Xiaomi 11T Pro, for example, the typical battery capacity is 5000mAh. The battery is divided into two 2500mAh cell structures. Better thermal control with a higher current input is also used.

MTW (Multi Tab Winding) is a new battery technology that improves current flow to the battery. The MTW features multiple anodes and cathode separators to allow for a shorter current path, lower internal resistance and better thermal control with a higher current input.

This technology is the ultimate charging experience with efficient and consistent high energy production. Conventionally, the speed of charge decreases significantly as the battery approaches 100%. The Mi-FC prolongs the high current time and supports real-time cell current and voltage monitoring. As a result, this significantly reduces loading time.

Using graphene-based lithium-ion technology, the batteries in the Xiaomi 11T Pro have higher conductivity than traditional batteries.

Xiaomi uses additional security measures to ensure that there are no compromises on battery life. With LiquidCool technology, heat dissipation is fast so charging is always efficient.

In addition, it has 34 safety features for battery charging, covering the entire charging cycle from the charger, through the circuit, to the battery. Nine thermal sensors monitor the temperature in real time, ensuring that charging is always safe.

Another of the manufacturer's priorities is to ensure an optimized lifetime for safer and more durable batteries. The battery is built with high temperature charging protection, high temperature discharging protection and double overcharging protection.

The circuit features USB input over voltage protection, USB input over current protection and USB input under voltage protection. The charger has short-circuit protection, over-current protection and over-voltage protection.

In summary, according to Xiaomi, with the 120W Hypercharge technology, it is possible to guarantee complete professional protection of the device.
