As an electronic device, iPhone should be used with care and kept away from power sources while charging. Yes, the latest models can be submerged under water without fear, but that doesn't mean they remain as safe while charging the battery.

Apple shared on the customer support page a series of warnings for iPhone users to stay safe, noting that users should avoid charging the phone in areas with water or high levels of humidity – when taking a shower, for example, due to the risk of steam build-up and creating a reaction.

BUT: New iPhone will have foldable screen capable of protecting itself from falls

"Do not use the charger in wet locations, near a sink, bathtub or shower, or plug or unplug the charger with wet hands.", can be read on the Apple website.

The company also notes that users should avoid using unofficial cables, as many of them can become increasingly dangerous as they degrade with use.
