Starting in December 2025, adult ChatGPT users will be able to access erotic chats, OpenAI President Sam Altman announced Tuesday.
According to the person in charge, this openness will be possible thanks to the more complete implementation of age restrictions within the platform.
"In December, as we strengthen age controls and continue to treat adults as adults, we will allow more content, including erotica, for verified users," Altman said on the social network X.
In the same post, OpenAI's president also addressed the limitations imposed on ChatGPT regarding mental health issues. He acknowledged that the safeguards designed to protect vulnerable individuals ended up displeasing many users who don't face such issues.
"We know that these restrictions made the system less useful and enjoyable for many users without mental health issues, but given the gravity of the issue, we chose to do what we believed was right," Altman explained.
It should be noted that several users had already accused the company of censorship due to the limitations imposed on content.
