Correios de Angola reinforces internet sales to avoid scams

Os Correios de Angola in the Center-South region, it will reinforce its internet sales of national and international products and services, in order to avoid cases of fraud when ordering products this way.

According to the head of the first and second section of Correios de Angola in the Center-South region, Alcaide Kalandula Kangaso, speaking to ANGOP, the reinforcement consists of an alert mechanism for the company's management, which includes the provinces of Bié, Cuando Cubango, Cuanza Sul and Huambo (headquarters), with the aim of preventing public/private and individual institutions, when purchasing various products, from online stores, websites and reliable equipment inside and outside the country.

This innovative measure on the part of the company aims to prevent citizens from being victims of scams on the internet, where the Centro-Sul regional directorate has opened a counseling office for customers, so that they know how to identify reliable sites before joining the “E- commerce”.

Alcaide Kalandula Kangaso also stressed that, for purchases, it is enough to have a Visa card and locate the virtual platforms with proven security and, for physical delivery or distribution, select Correios de Angola.

The Chief points out that “E-commerce” is a service that started a long time ago, but with greater demand in the region only in the last two years, due to the restrictions imposed by the Covid-19 pandemic.

With that, he informed that, in the last two years, on a daily average, 95 institutions and private citizens requested orders for national and international online purchases, which ended up arriving at their homes safely.

He said that before the Covid-19 pandemic, orders on the “E-commerce” service were unknown and lethargic, with a daily average of 30 requests, but with many complaints of fraud.

Despite the increase in requests, he pointed out some difficulties, such as locating certain customers who put incomplete addresses in the order, causing some delay in the delivery of the product.
