The country's capital now has a Community Center for Art and Technology, aimed at children in Luanda, with various areas of knowledge and to encourage the development of children in the areas of computing, robotics and chemistry.

With the capacity to receive 50 children a day, the technological park is installed inside a recovered bus shell and equipped with more than six computers, where skills and competences will be transmitted to minors, to promote employability in the future. Outside the center, painting, realistic design and chess activities are available.

According to Emília Dias, responsible for the center, she stressed that the objective is to bring knowledge to children from an early age towards an increasingly technological future, emphasizing that the project started with the idea of developing activities that stimulate the intellect of children, since there are no similar spaces in the country.

"If we start from an early age, many problems will be solved, because, today, we are faced with adults who cannot use a computer.", said.

The project mentor also pointed out that another objective of the cultural and social project is to transmit knowledge to young children for a future, through technological science and culture. The center's slogan is "Kandengues Scientists for the future”.

In her approach, Emília Dias lamented the fact that primary schools lack computers, a basic tool in a technological world.

Finally, he appealed to writers who want to publish children's books to use the space to encourage the habit of reading, announcing that, on Saturday (19), the center will launch the health space.

It should be noted that this is the fifth art and technology community center in Angola. The first was implemented in 2018, in Lucira, Namibe province. The Community Center for Art and Technology has the support of the Ministries of Telecommunications, Information Technologies and Social Communication, Culture and Tourism, the Angolan Youth Institute, Unitel, MDC – Mundo da Casa, INFRASAT, Huawei, Academy of Kandengues Scientists and the United States Embassy.

The project foresees, for the next week, the opening of two more centers in Luanda, one dedicated to Steam education and another to guide health services, specifically preventive outpatient consultations.
