Angolan delegation present at the International Astronautics Congress

The National Space Program Management Office (GGPEN) participated last week in the International Astronautical Congress (IAC2022), in France, where he reported on his challenges and achievements in the space sector, as well as held meetings with the great players of the global space industry.

The event, which took place from September 18 to 22, 2022, in the French capital, the Angolan delegation participated in several meetings with government institutions and companies, such as NASA, ESA, Brazilian Space Agency, French Space Agency, South African Space Agency, Rwanda Space, AIRBUS, Thales Alenia Space and Ariane Group.

According to what was revealed, the presence of the GGPEN the event also served as an international exchange, which constitutes one of the five pillars of the National Space Strategy, which provides for the exchange of experiences and the creation of partnerships, as a way of making the Angolan space industry competitive.

BUT: GGPEN carries out activities to raise interest in space technology

At the GGPEN stand, at IAC2022, participants had the opportunity to learn about the space applications developed by the institution's specialists, including services TECH-ECOLOGY, TECH-GEST and TECH-AGRO.

The respective applications use optical satellite, radar and drone resources for estimating agricultural productivity, monitoring deforestation, monitoring construction works, monitoring and detecting oil spills and detecting ships.

During the event, the Cabinet received several visits from prominent figures in the international space industry who appreciated space applications, including students, industry professionals and entities interested in establishing cooperation.
