O Facebook is being the target of two more new complaints in the US Securities and Exchange Commission, where it is accused of misleading investors about the company's initiatives to combat misinformation about climate change and Covid-19, reveals the The Verge.

The complaints were filed by the non-profit organization Whistleblower Air representing Frances Haugen, the former Facebook worker and whistleblower who in 2021 unveiled a series of internal documents of the technology company.

BUT: Donald Trump has an 'explanation' for the current Facebook crash

According to what was reported, the complaints filed with the US Securities and Exchange Commission focus on the experiences of the company's own workers with misinformation on the platform, and where the objective is to indicate that false information about climate change is easily found on the platform.

"We referred more than two billion people to public health information and continued to remove false vaccine claims, conspiracy theories and misinformation. There are no single solutions to stop the spread of misinformation, but we are committed to creating new tools and policies to combat it.”, can be read in the statement.
