O Spotify is mostly known as a music streaming service but, nevertheless, the Swedish company has sought to strengthen its position by betting on other types of content – namely podcasts.

Now, the Spotify also decided to bet on 'audiobooks' – books in audio form that can be enjoyed by service users at any time. For this launch, Spotify has added over 300 books in audio form to its platform.

BUT: UNITEL offers Spotify without discounting the data plan to its customers

As with music and podcasts on Spotify, these 'audiobooks' will be recommended on the main page of the service. When you find an 'audiobook' that you are interested in, you can decide to purchase it and the transaction will be made on an external page of the browser.

Spotify adds that this is the “first iteration” of the 'audiobook' format on the platform, indicating that it intends to “innovate in the format” over the next few years.
