dropbox, cloud storage service announced, sneakily, that from July 22 your users will need to have a paid account if they want to continue enjoying the automatic photo upload feature in their mobile applications. The news was given today (22) along with other new updates.

This novelty only applies to mobile devices, so the handling of photographs by the computer through free accounts remains functional. This is because, according to the company, the process of organizing the photographs sent by the computer is simpler.

O Dropbox makes available in your basic account (free version) 2 GB of space, which according to them "you can run out of space quickly, when you automatically send all photos to Dropbox, in the basic version". This space availability can be increased with some indications or promotions, or with the monthly payment of $ 9,99 from the PRO account (with 1 TB available).

Other news

The current news is focused on productivity. One is scanning documents directly from the application (for iOS), which allows you to scan manuscripts, drawings or invoices. Anyone who subscribes to Dropbox Business ($ 15 per user per month, starting with 5 users) will also be able to search within documents, a function similar to Evernote.

It was more practical to share documents on the desktop: by Windows Explorer or Finder, just right click on the file or folder and select the "Share" option. When you do this, you will notice that you can create shared folders with read-only access.

The web interface has improved. The version history feature, which periodically saves modifications to a file, will allow you to view the previous version of the document before restoring it.
