Angola currently has a digital penetration rate among the population of 39 percent, according to 2024 data from Institute of Administrative Modernization (IMA).
According to the deputy director for the Technical Area of IMA, Alfonsina Kassongo, who was speaking during the 157nd edition of the “Vertical Congress”, she revealed that at a global level the Angolan Government's positioning, with regard to electronic governance, is in position 193 out of XNUMX countries.
These numbers, he indicated, point to the need to increasingly promote access to the internet and increasingly promote the digital inclusion of the population.
"In the modern society in which we find ourselves, it is becoming increasingly necessary to use information technologies to provide public services, and we cannot provide a public service through digital means without this population being in this environment.", said.
To meet the challenges, the director recalled that in addition to the digital transition agenda, the IMA has an ongoing digital acceleration project, which has funding from the World Bank worth 300 million dollars, based on the implementation of the Public Administration interoperability platform.
