O dropbox launched a password manager and a file vault. Known as Dropbox Passwords and Dropbox Vault, the novelties expand the range of features of the cloud file storage service.
In terms of functionality, the free variant corresponds to the paid version that Dropbox announced last year. It works similarly to other password managers: your passwords are automatically added to the login pages and synchronized with the cloud for access on other devices.
The free version is limited to a maximum of 50 passwords and can be synchronized with up to three devices at the same time. Users who want to save more passwords must sign up for Dropbox. This subscription costs $ 11 a month, but it also offers 2 TB of cloud storage. Alternatively, there is a family plan of $ 20 per month, which can be shared by up to 6 users.
Dropbox also added an automatic backup feature that syncs your folders in the cloud with local directories on your computer. Companies that hire the corporate plan also won some treats, such as shared link statistics and the ability to add their branding to documents sent to third parties.
In addition to a password manager, Dropbox announced some other features last year for customers who pay for Dropbox Premium. For example, the company created Dropbox Vault, a method for storing documents more securely. Backup options in Dropbox have also been improved.
