Netflix recently announced that the account sharing had its days numbered, but it seems that things started to happen when many did not even expect it, and apparently in Portugal the news ended the happiness of many. Netflix announced that it will implement in Portugal, as of this Wednesday, the ban on account sharing.

In a statement published on its official website, the streaming realizes that from now on it will only be possible to share the account if you are a subscriber to the packages Standard ou Premium: No Standard, which currently costs 11,99 euros per month, you can add an extra member, from outside your home, to your Netflix account, for an additional 3,99 euros; at the Premium, which costs 15,99 euros, you can add up to two extra members, from outside the subscriber's residence, also for 3,99 euros each.

Anyone who wants to have more people associated outside their residence will have to pay 3,99 euros.

The platform recognizes that the possibility of watching Netflix on multiple screens simultaneously and with multiple profiles, despite being a “success”, “generated some confusion about when and how Netflix can be shared”. “Today, more than 100 million households share accounts, which impacts our ability to invest in high quality series and films”.
