Elon Musk: "We can't trust WhatsApp"

2058

The leader of Tesla, SpaceX and Twitter, Elon Musk, made a publication where he says that “We cannot rely on WhatsApp". The 'tweet' was published in reaction to the discovery of an error in the messaging app, where the microphone is activated without the mobile phone being used.

BUT: WhatsApp tests autoplay GIFs in conversations

The error in question was discovered by a Twitter engineer, Foad Dabiri. "WhatsApp uses the microphone at the bottom of the phone, while I was sleeping and since I woke up at 06:00 am", can be read in Dabiri's message, which shares a photograph proving the existence of this error.

However, says the GadgetsNow website that WhatsApp has publicly acknowledged the existence of the error, indicating that it is an issue with Android and not specifically with the messaging app. On its side, Google said that it is “aware of the issue and working closely with WhatsApp to investigate”.
