Elon Musk has plans to create an AI competitor to ChatGPT

Elon Musk is hiring computer engineers to develop a generative conversation system to compete with the Chat GPT, but wants it to be less restricted in controversial content with regard to issues such as politics, race or gender.

The Information portal, which cites three sources, ensures that Musk intends for his chatbot to be less woke, that is, with less content restrictions on controversial issues related to politics, race or sex.

To do so, it hired Igor Babuschkin, who has just left Alphabet's AI unit, called Deep Mind, and specializes in developing learning guidelines for machines capable of making chats more sophisticated and credible.

BUT: Chinese apps blocked access to ChatGPT

Musk himself has not confirmed these plans, but on his Twitter account he published a document today in which he refers to the matter.

The woke trend, of political correctness, is an obsession of Musk, who often accuses traditional media, such as newspapers and television, of succumbing to speech restrictions and practicing “free speech” censorship.

Musk was one of the founders of OpenAI, which developed ChatGPT, but left the company in 2018 to avoid possible conflicts of interest, since Tesla, the electric vehicle company he runs, was also working on AI.
