Speculation and rumors do not stop warming the world of technology, what comes next to the Windows 8. Windows 9 (codenamed Threshold) is not far from being presented and according to some rumors, a beta version could be released later this year and the final version in the first half of 2015.
If Windows 8 represented a drastic change to the mobile platform, especially on tablets, it is hoped that Windows 9 can restore the balance between desktop and mobile devices. Microsoft needs to ensure that its operating system is focused on PCs, that is, Microsoft needs to refocus on the desktop.
Windows 8.1, has been a part of the company's work to make Windows 8 a better desktop operating system. But Windows 9 will have more freedom to make changes. The idea of removing the “Charms Bar”, and bringing back the Start Menu and adding several desktops is already receiving immense positive reactions from end users.
According to the website ZDNet, Microsoft does not rule out the possibility of offering the Windows 9 update (codename Threshold) for free to owners of Windows XP, Vista and 7. The idea is not to force the consumer, but to do everything to convince the public to bet on the operating system which should serve as a unifier of the company's platforms.
