The government will privatize the majority of the state capital Infrasat, company that will manage the first satellite, the current business unit of Angola Telecom for satellite telecommunications.

According to the presidential authorization, the company becomes an “limited company Infrasat - Telecomunicações”, with 40% of the share capital remaining in the hands of Angola Telecom and the rest distributed by the private shareholders of GAFP - Investimentos e Participações SA (30%) Lello SA (20%) and Macgra - Importação e Exportação SA (5%).

According to the document, the possibility of divesting part of the shares of Infrasat - Telecomunicações SA in “Angola Stock Exchange ”, in the context of the integration of private investment, giving priority to 5% of the company's shares.

AngoSat-1 will provide telecommunications, television, internet services, among other services.

This change takes into account the launch into orbit, this year, and corresponding entry into service, of AngoSat-1, the first Angolan satellite. The decision implies the detachment of the assets assigned to Angola Telecom, for satellite telecommunications, as well as the transfer of the respective workers to the staff of the company Infrasat - Telecomunicações SA.

The launch of the first AngoSat-1 satellite, under construction in Russia since 2013, is scheduled for the third quarter of this year, according to the latest announcement by the Minister of Telecommunications and Information Technology, José Carvalho da Rocha.
