Primary education should include technology subjects, argues INFOSI

The curriculum teaching in Angolan primary schools will include technology subjects, with the aim of obtaining better results in this sector, revealed the general director of National Institute for the Promotion of the Information Society (INFOSI), Pedro André.

Speaking at the opening of the Forum on Digital Governance, the person in charge defended that subjects related to technology start as early as primary school, given that the earlier children are educated in the field of technology, the better results will be achieved.

Pedro André reiterated that rapid technological advancement, the internet, has established itself as one of the main forces of transformation in recent decades, as societies currently face the challenge of adapting to new paradigms of access to information management.

Therefore, the general director advises Angolan universities to work with primary schools, in order to prepare children to live safely with the internet.

For the manager, it is a challenge that will determine the multiplication factor of technological and scientific knowledge, so that they can grow, undertake and improve their line of action, in a safe way.

He made it known that the Executive develops these seminars to guarantee the security of the digital system approved in the .ao domain by the entity that governs the internet in the world.

He reinforced that the event in question seeks not only to identify the main virtual threats, but also to promote an effective methodology for raising awareness among users, hence the importance of correctly exploring the best online security practices.
