Our article "Fatal mistakes companies make when selling online in Angola [Part 1]“, Addressed aspects related to the type of payment implemented by companies that sell online, as well as lack of information, where companies that sell online make the mistake of“ sending ”or“ asking ”the customer to send a message or call to find out the price of the product.

In this second part, we will discuss aspects regarding the platform used to sell online, and delivery services. Below we leave the errors and their solutions:

3. The Platform used

Several times customers are faced with Facebook pages that call themselves “online stores“, And unfortunately, this way the customer was unable to access more information about the product, or even know the existing quantity.

An Online Sales Platform (or e-Commerce Platform) is an environment that allows you to create Profiles or Stores through which you can advertise and sell products or services on the Internet. Today, in Angola, there are several online sales platforms, many of them functional but few adapted to the Angolan reality, so choosing your platform is basically the most important part of All.

Solution:

Research on national e-Commerce platforms with payment methods adapted to our reality and that provide all the tools that a store needs, such as  SOBA e-Store.

4- Delivery service

This is one of the main problems, not only for online sales but in general, delivering at home is a major challenge for Angolan entrepreneurs as the costs are not low, not to mention the factor “Urbanization”Which restricts the reach area, making only residents of centralities, condominiums and the famous“ Cidade ”have access to this type of service, which is obviously bad for the business.

Solution:

When deciding to implement an online store, try to do a study and find out where most of your target audience / potential customers are located and then analyze whether it is worth investing in a delivery service. Also try to provide free delivery for a certain number of products (mainly those sold online).

We hope these boards can help you with the implementation and success of your online store.

  1. Can't we consider the “Loja” platform on facebook as an online store?

It failed to mention that one of the major problems is the public itself. Unfortunately, Angolans are not yet used to using online stores, despite the benefits, there is still great resistance to the adhesion of these platforms.

  2. will it be that in Angola you can already do oline trade without leaving your home by quoting with your company oline and delivery by the Koreans?
