
More than 60 high school and higher education students in Huambo province started a training cycle linked to new technologies, training as part of the 2nd phase of the training plan for youth, which aims to train high school and higher education students with practical and theoretical content on the new information and communication technologies.
Organized by the Angola Media Library Network (REMA) and the Telecommunications Institute (ITEL), the training lasts five days and where trainees will be trained, free of charge, in technical-professional courses in Graphic Design, Computer Repair and Video Surveillance, with 20 students each.
The idea of training also involves encouraging youth entrepreneurship, with a focus on promoting self-employment.
The two institutions also launched the opening of the provincial programming contest, with groups of 16 subscribers, in an initiative aimed at promoting activities on new information and communication technologies among young people.

The competition also aims to bring together groups of high school and higher education students linked to technological sciences, to choose the representative of Huambo in the national competition, to be held in 2023 in the province of Luanda.
According to Juliana Luzolo Panzu, director general of REMA, said that training is of high importance in the professional life of young people, as it represents the current situation of the country and the world in general. She also referred that the training aims to provide free technical courses to young Angolans, with a view to creating their first job.
About the contest, Juliana Luzolo Panzu said that it was an action that aims to teach young students essential programming techniques, for the creation of software capable of being used in a specific national company.
In turn, the general director of ITEL, Cláudio Gonçalves, called for young people to participate in the training program, taking into account the role of information and communication technologies in the growth and development of societies.
He reaffirmed the institution's commitment to the qualitative training of young people, for their quick insertion into the job market.
The director of Education in the province of Huambo, Mário da Costa Rodrigues, highlighted the advantages of new technologies in the socialization and monitoring of information for the country's development.
