Executive committed to promoting girls' participation in science and technology

The Angolan Government is committed to promoting the participation of disadvantaged girls and vulnerable young women in science, technology and innovation in order to minimize gender disparity.

The information was revealed at the opening of the Women and Young Women in Science Dialogue Forum in Angola, a joint event between the Ministries of Higher Education, Science, Technology and Innovation and Education and which aims to promote the coordination of ideas, through the sharing of information and experiences.

Maximizing Angolan women in technology is one of the main objectives of the Science and Technology Development Project (PDCT), where official data indicate that in the last 5 years, Angola has made significant advances in the insertion and participation of women in the field of science.

BUT: Angolan women encouraged to pursue a technological career

The respective forum alludes to “March Women” and the International Day of Women and Girls in Science, marked on February 11, where it will be about revealing information and experiences on the best ways to take advantage of the contribution of Angolan women in the field of science, within the framework of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) defined by the United Nations 2030 Agenda and the African Union 2063 Agenda.

The meeting also highlighted the advances that the country has registered in the field of science and technology, with special emphasis on the contribution of women and young women in this field.
