It was at the last press conference given by the Minister of Telecommunications and Information Technologies, José Carvalho da Rocha, that he denied the intention of the Angolan executive to control social networks in Angola.

"There is no initiative to regulate social networks. What we want and we are doing is actually creating some regulations that can protect our cyberspace "

The Minister touched on the subject to answer one of the questions posed at the press conference. He also stressed that the executive is working to ensure greater security in the use of the Internet in Angola, which should not be confused with control of social networks. To this end, the future Law on Protection of Electronic Communications Systems and Networks is designed to enable users of information and communication technologies to do so safely and in the best possible way.

Social networks are a technical and scientific achievement of all humanity, which Angolans should benefit to improve their access to knowledge, but should not be used to violate the right of people, to expose the intimate life of anyone, slander, humiliate and transmit degrading and morally offensive content. "

José Carvalho da Rocha argued that Angola should have the right legislation as soon as possible to guide society and institutions and to reproach or prevent the emergence of such practices, which are unacceptable.
