The company responsible for Facebook, Meta, announced that this Thursday, the 11th, it began testing the integration of end-to-end encryption in the Messenger messaging app.

According to the website TechCrunch, the functionality is being tested "with some people” but, it is good to remember, that Messenger already offers this option. However, unlike other messaging apps where encryption is always on (like WhatsApp), Messenger currently requires users to manually enable this option.

BUT: New update will change the way you use Facebook

With encryption, the idea is that messages and content shared by Messenger users cannot be viewed by anyone other than the participants in the conversation – not even the person himself. Facebook.

Note that Facebook is also testing the ability to make 'backups' of conversations in the 'cloud' of Messenger with encryption, which means that these conversations were stored in a more secure way.
