Facebook Launches Suicide Prevention Campaign

O Facebook marks the “World Suicide Prevention Day“, September 10, and launches the suicide prevention campaign by informing people about the tools and resources it has developed for those who may be at risk.

Throughout September, Facebook will alert people with information about support groups and suicide prevention tools, through announcements in the News Feed. A new section of the Security Center is also available, with additional resources on suicide prevention and wellness online.

The aim is to inform users about the tools and resources that the social network has developed.

People can access tools to resolve conflicts online, help a friend who is expressing suicidal thoughts or get resources if they are going through a difficult time.

This is an interesting action because many people express their feelings (including nega- social networks, and a user who notices repeated posts of suffering from someone can prevent something worse from happening.

The new Facebook campaign is not the only social network project to fight suicide. In March, the site began using technology to detect problematic patterns in people's comments and send messages with information about support organizations.
