O Facebook intends to implement a resource to make it easier for people affected by disasters to provide and receive help.

The new feature is called “Community Help”And this is a project that aims to put the victims of a natural disaster or similar event in contact with the inhabitants closest to the region where it occurred.

The social network has created a section where people close to each other can offer shelter after a disaster, such as looking for food after an earthquake and meeting other immediate needs in an organized way.

"Community Help, created in partnership with emergency aid agencies, such as the Red Cross, should be used first for natural disasters and fire indicators".

The new feature of Facebook also comes with some safety guidelines, such as a warning to users so that if they meet strangers due to the disaster, do so in a public place.
For now, the feature will be available only to users of the social network in the United States, Canada, Australia, India, New Zealand and Saudi Arabia. Facebook said, however, that it plans to expand to other countries and other types of incidents after the test.
