Uíge Technological Innovation Fair (FIT) distinguishes young national inventors

Last weekend the first edition of the Technological Innovation Fair (FIT) in Uíge, where several national inventors were awarded, such as Gonçalves Álvaro, 18 years old, inventor of an electric oven and Francisca Eduardo, 21 years old, renewable energy technician and inventor of community jango.

Speaking to journalists present at the fair, the pair of inventors said that they will continue to create, innovate and provide services to communities, for the development of the province of Uíge, and where Gonçalves Álvaro explained that he manufactured the electronic oven based on recycled products, having transforming thermal energy into heat energy, to generate heating in the oven.

The young inventor also said that he intends to expand his invention in the 16 municipalities of the province, in order to allow the population's access to Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs).

On the other hand, Francisca Eduardo, informed that the community jango is an invention that helps in the electrification of communities, also aiming to guarantee access to information and the inclusion of new Information and Communication Technologies.

It should be noted that the event had the presence of the deputy governor for the Political, Social and Economic Sector of the province, Maria Fernanda Cavungo, who closed the fair, and affirmed the commitment of the local Government to training staff, which represents an essential challenge for improvement of human development indicators and the quality of social services, he explained.

The first edition of the Technological Innovation Fair (FIT) in Uíge served to display various technological solutions in the sectors of agriculture, renewable energy, electronics, service provision, human resource management and transport, as well as offering solutions for the installation of identity card registration systems, voter registration, laboratories, among other products.

Speaking to the press, the director of the Technological Center of Uíge, Virgílio Cordeiro, explained that the exhibition aims to discover talents in the areas of Information and Communication Technologies, as well as encourage young people to invest in professional training.

In turn, Uíge's deputy governor for the Political, Social and Economic sector, Maria Cavungo, considered the fair as a space to present the province's technological potential, for establishing contacts with potential investors in the ICT sector.

The fair, which took place under the motto “Create, innovate and implement for the development of the province of Uíge, in the era of the Covid-19 pandemic”, will reward the winners of the categories of renewable energies, electronics, management software, car troubleshooting.

O Technological Center of Uíge, which has been operating since December 2021, has already launched 125 finalists in the various courses related to ICTs, 27 of which have international certifications.

The infrastructure has five equipped training rooms and 13 incubators to install 12 companies that intend to provide services in that space.
