Angolan civil society must reinforce digital literacy, in order to guarantee greater digital security, appealed to the committee of the Forum of Women Journalists for Gender Equality (FMJIG).

The group of women who were gathered on the sidelines of a training session highlighted that many citizens have been victims of fraud for providing reliable information on social media.

"Many citizens have been the target of distraction scams. For this reason, we have promoted gender seminars, with a view to combating this evil”, said the president of FMJIG, Milena Costa.

"Today we are very connected to the Internet, so it is necessary to be more careful when handling this equipment, to avoid falling victims to scams and fake profiles. People who do not master this subject must have training in digital security, to be aware of the dangers", continued.

The seminar participants, he said, decided to create a four-year project on digital security.

"The activity is the culmination of a project developed over the last four years on digital security, in an initiative by the Nigeria Technological Innovation Center”, he stressed.

So far, he said, the project has received positive feedback from participants. “Many participants were inexperienced in digital security, but today, with training, they have greater insight", said.
