[FT2017] The State of the Art of Telecommunications in Angola

It was yesterday (19 day of May of 2013) the View Profile 2017 edition (FT2017), carried out by Jornal Expansão that took place at HCTA, with the theme “ The State of the Art of Telecommunications in Angola". The opening was made by Carlos Rosado de Carvalho (Director of the newspaper Expansão), where during his presentation he spoke about the current state of telecommunications, showing that Angola is not one of the countries with the highest costs within Africa, where it was visible during the scenarios presented.

Foreign companies operating in the Angolan market have also had their moment, we are talking about the PWC who was represented by its director (Michael Hardit) who approached about the "Trends in the telecommunications sector and regulation". It was still present Huawei represented by its CTO (Gaving Wang), who addressed the “Connectivity and Competivity".

Already in the final stretch, the round table was organized where representatives of the MS TELCOM (Roger Ferreira), Unitel (Almicar Safeca), Angola Cables (Antonio Nunes), DSTV (Eduardo Continentino) and Eduardo Fraústo (EMIS) having been moderated by Carlos Rosado de Carvalho.

During the round table, several aspects were discussed regarding our country and not only, from the current state of telecommunications in Angola, the production and storage of national content, the reason for the high telecommunication costs in our country, and the benefits that the Angolan satellite will bring.

Participants had the opportunity to ask some questions at the table, where Unitel stressed that it is already working on the implementation of Ipv6, and that it is also evidencing efforts for a few years ago Angola to have the 5G. Angola Cables has talked about its well-known submarine cables and the efforts that it has made to make Angola in the telecommunications Hub.
