Samsung has announced that it will update the firmware on your smart watch and make your Gear even more “communicative”. One of the major criticisms that the Galaxy Gear had at the time of its launch was that the notification system was not compatible with applications from other companies, only with applications from Samsung. This required users to always go to the phone or tablet to see the update of any app that was not from Samsung, that is, most of the apps they had.
Like any self-respecting technology company that wants to survive in this competitive market, Samsung did what had to be done, listened to its consumers and partners and will correct this “flaw” with the update of the clock firmware. Gear will now allow applications from other developers to communicate and send status updates to the watch and thus fulfill the purpose for which it was developed.
The update should leave next week.
