A new report from the Google, released by the senior vice-president of the company, Prabhakar Raghavan, points out that 40% of generation Z – the one that comprises those born after 1995, leave Google for social networks, such as TikTok e Instagram, when doing research.

The announcement was made during the Brainstorm Tech conference and, according to the executive, younger generation Z are not in the habit of using keywords in searches and prefer more immersive experiences to discover content.

For example, videos from digital influencers showing new restaurants and places to visit, bringing people closer to that experience, which ends up increasing interest.

Raghavan said that Gen Z audiences are interested in “visually rich shapes". "We have to evoke completely new expectations and that requires completely new technological foundations.”, reported the executive.

Apparently, Google should invest in changes in order to attract young people, making their search increasingly interactive.

According to the TechCrunch portal, Google revealed that Raghavan's comments were based on internal research carried out with users aged 18 to 24 in the United States, but the full report does not yet have a date to be released.

Recently, during Search On 22, where Google presents its new tools and resources, the company announced that Maps will now allow users to use their cell phone's camera to search for places, making the search experience even more immersive .

Called Live View, the feature allows users to point the camera of a cell phone at an establishment to understand which businesses are nearby, for example, where are the ATMs, pharmacies, restaurants and others.
