2045

International Astronautical Federation (IAF) is an international organization for space defense headquartered in Paris and founded in 1951 as a non-governmental organization to establish a dialogue between scientists around the world and provide information for international space cooperation. It has over 407 members from 68 countries worldwide. They are drawn from space agencies, companies, universities, professional associations, museums, government organizations and scientific societies.

The National Space Program Management Office (GGPEN), an agency under the Ministry of Telecommunications, Information Technologies and Social Communication (MINTTICS), was officially admitted as a member of the IAF, at the last General Assembly of the organization, held in Dubai, United Arab Emirates , during the International Astronautics Congress (IAC 2021).

“It is an honor for us to have GGPEN as part of our great community. We hope it will be fruitful and that we will have lasting collaborations between our organizations in the future”, wrote the organization's Executive Director, Dr. Christian Feichtinger, in the welcome message sent to the Cabinet Board.

A IAF has seen its membership grow substantially following the integration of new and emerging space nations into its network. Its achievements in supporting international cooperation over the past seven decades make the Federation continue to build one of the world's largest networks of space experts and decision makers.
