GGPEN promotes lecture on space technology with experts from MIT

Investment in space technology can bring a number of significant benefits to a country's citizens, including those in African nations like Angola.

It is along this path that a free lecture called “The importance of space technology for society”, with MIT lecturers (MIT), with Dr. Danielle Wood, Dr. Sharif Islam and Dr. Katlyn Turner.

The event will address how communications satellites can drastically improve communications networks in remote areas, providing internet access, telecommunications and data transmission services. The talk will also focus on how satellites are valuable tools for monitoring environmental changes, such as deforestation, climate conditions and agricultural patterns. This allows for more effective management of natural resources, contributing to environmental sustainability and the prevention of natural disasters.

According to the statement that the MenosFios editorial staff had access to, the event is organized by the Ministry of Telecommunications, Information Technologies and Social Communication (MINTTICS), through GGPEN, in partnership with MIT.
