Google has launched yet another application for communication, Google Duo, specific to video calls.
After a few days, the app is the 1 number in the top of the Google application store in the United States, with more than 5 million downloads.
The application has taken the place of Pokémon Go, which has since left the top of the list of most downloaded on Google Play.
Apparently, the Duo seems to have gained prominence among Android users.
The question is: is it the initial impact, where people install just to test and then decide to keep, or really Google managed to make a good application for video calls?
What are the other apps at the top?
In second place is the "phenomenon" Pokémon Go and Facebook Messenger (direct competitor of Google Duo, for also having the functionality of video calls).
Are users liking performance?
The rating is around 4,5 stars (with more than 40 people providing feedback), thus beating other top apps. To get an idea, Facebook has 4.0 stars, Messenger has 3.9 stars and Snapchat has 3.9 stars. Users, in general, give more stars when they verify that the application fulfills its function, confirm that the usability is good, among other criteria not so objective.
