The Google outlined goals that aim to train around 10 million people in Africa over the next five years, an effort that aims to make Africans more employable.

Google also hopes to train 100.000 Africans to develop world-class applications, with an initial focus on Nigeria, Kenya and South Africa. This was announced by Google’s CEO, Sundar Pichai at the Google conference held in Nigeria, Lagos.

The executive also said that the company's charity arm, Google.org, is investing US $ 20 million over the next five years to nonprofits that are working to improve lives across Africa.

The Google CEO said the company wants to do more to support African entrepreneurs in building successful technology companies and products.

The company will also give initial scholarships worth US $ 2,5 million for non-profit African startups, to provide free access to 400's learning to 1,000 low-income students in South Africa and Nigeria.

"We also want to invite nonprofits from across the continent to share their ideas on how they could affect their community and beyond. So we are launching a impact challenge Google.org in Africa in 2018 to provide $ 5 million in grants. Any eligible nonprofit country in Africa can apply, and anyone can help select the best ideas when voting online.“Said Pichai

  1. I am passionate about information technologies and I never miss a post from the largest Angolan ICT website (Computer Engineer) 🇦🇴

  2. Great Initiative… ..A good thing for Google and it is also an action of the kind that bring development and progress to continue and only that I get a little sad because actions of the kind are almost always absent, plus there is good for this one project
