Angolan government bets on telecommunications to mitigate the effect of Covid-19

The Angolan Executive has invested “strong” in infrastructure and internet access services to face the effects of Covid-19, according to the secretary of State for Telecommunications and Information Technologies, Mário Oliveira, this morning.

The Secretary of State was speaking at the opening of the forum on Digital Transformation in Angola Post-Covid-19, with the presence of MenosFios, where he also reinforced that the country has been successful in combating and mitigating the effects of the pandemic, also because of investments made in telecommunications infrastructure and services such as internet access.

"Thinking about the post-pandemic, MINTTICS understands that it is opportune to conduct actions aimed at the creation of infrastructure and innovation, aiming at the expansion of connectivity and intelligent technologies, such as 5G”, said Mário Oliveira.

In the same conversation, the representative of the Minister of Telecommunications, Information Technologies and Social Communication (MINTTICS) at the event, understands that the digital transformation is the way to accelerate socio-economic development and increase market competitiveness, always keeping in mind aimed at improving the social well-being of peoples.

To inform the event forum about the Digital Transformation in Angola Post-Covid-19 is organized by the Ministry of Telecommunications, Information Technologies and Social Communication, and a large panel brings together national and foreign specialists and operators to discuss topics such as “digital finance","Infrastructure Sharing","Electronic Governance","Electronic Services","Key Infrastructure for Digital Transformation in Angola"and "market regulation".
