Angolan government will focus on digital reform of public administration

The Angolan Government is committed to the simplification, digitization and modernization of public administration, according to the Secretary of the President of the Republic for State Reform, Pedro Fiete Raimundo.

The public manager expressed this idea of ​​thinking about the launch event of the International Conference on the Digital Transition of Public Administration in Angola, scheduled for next June, in the country's capital, informing that the simplification and modernization of public administration is a commitment of the President of Republic, João Lourenço, to better serve the citizen.

According to Pedro Raimundo, as part of the introduction of good practices in public administration, the expiry dates of documents such as identity cards and driving licenses were extended, as well as the need for a criminal record certificate for administrative acts, adding that, among others, it is no longer necessary to confirm enrollment in general education, homologation of the certificate of completion of general education and the police declaration to obtain a duplicate of lost documents.

The ceremony also served to point out the modernization and digitization of public services as an imperative for the reduction of face-to-face attendance and the physical issuance of documents, as well as the rationalization of the costs of providing the public service, stating that the great challenge is related to the implementation of the public services interactivity platform, in order to interconnect the public administration and ensure the integration of services from the discontinuity of issuing documents.

"The country has to embrace the challenges of the digital transition as demands that the contemporary world imposes on us“, he underlined.

From what was revealed, the conference on the digital transition of public administration was scheduled for the 23rd and 24th of June, and which aims to analyze the best ways for administrative modernization.

On the other hand, the event called “www.governo.ao”, aims to listen to about five thousand national and foreign participants on the design of an agenda with solutions for the digital transition in public administration, in Angola, in order to identify solutions that place Angola on the path of countries with acceptable organizational levels in terms of public administration, promoting partnership and discovering brilliant minds.

The International Conference on the Digital Transition of Public Administration in Angola addressed various issues, such as “Digital government and digital economy🇧🇷Interactivity of public administration, assessment of citizen satisfaction","Digital democracy"and "Project management and artificial intelligence".
