The Angolan Government wants more national and foreign companies to invest in Angola in the renewable energy, in order to achieve the goals and objectives set by the Executive.

This information was revealed by the Minister of Mineral Resources, Oil and Gas, when speaking at the closing of the International Conference on Renewable Energy in Angola, adding that the theme of “renewable energy” is gaining more and more relevance in all countries of the world, for whom the reason “it's not just about creating new businesses or increasing people's access to electricity".

“It is also because we are living in a new era of energy transition with the aim of limiting global warming and preventing temperature increases to levels above 1,5ºC in 2050”, said the Minister.

BUT: Angola is entering the renewable energy map, says expert

It should be noted that in recent times, the Angolan State has carried out several public investment projects in photovoltaic solar energy for the electrification of different national locations, which will make a very relevant contribution to achieving the target of 70% by 2025, taking into account the current 42 %.

For experts such as the Executive Director of the Lusophone Association of Renewable Energies (ALER), Isabel Cancela de Abreu, the country is entering the renewable energy map and where the next step will be greater involvement of the private sector in this market
