The Angolan Government has already invested more than 28 billion kwanzas in the Telecommunications and Information and Communication Technologies sector in the last five years, in a climate of great adversity.

Much because of financial restrictions around the world, but also because of Covid-19, which lasted intensively and permanently for two years, the Administration led by President João Lourenço was forced to invest in technological innovations and transformations, in automation, artificial technology, robotics, innovation and invention.

About the expenses in the sector, in the scope of the tests carried out in the country, by Covid-19 in more than two years, highlighting the purchase of electronic disinfecting equipment produced locally by Angolans, trained in Angola, communications at various regular levels, TV and radio signals, computer applications, which despite the new coronavirus pandemic worked perfectly for the comfort and entertainment of families, but also, to be able to keep the companies active.

Still in the strategy of reinforcing and expanding innovation and technological development in Angola, the Government launched the Innovation and Technology Transfer Program, a nationwide program of technological modernization and innovation and digital inclusion.

BUT: Angola amends regulation for sharing electronic telecommunications infrastructure

This program is coordinated and implemented by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Technology and Innovation (MESCTI), in collaboration with the Ministry of Economy and Planning and the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, given the need to make innovation and technology transversal more present, more useful in the real economy of the country. In short, the Program for Fostering Innovation and Transfer of Technology focuses on scientific, technological and innovation development and technology transfer, through partnerships with different institutions, public and private, aimed at institutions and thousands of Angolans from all ages across the country.

The Angolan Government's strategy, with this program, is the increase and banality of digital literacy, as well as the promotion of the development of the real economy and of the country in general, in a sustainable and modern way.

One of the main benefits of innovation and technological transformation, guarantee social scientists and others, provided by modernization, is the reduction of expenses for carrying out a certain task, the better and greater use of time and the ease in carrying out tasks. And they say more: new technologies allow processes and forms of work, study, and more, to be automated and done more efficiently, which eliminates manual errors and reduces the time required to perform various activities. Deep down, technological innovation allows for increased productivity with fewer resources, but with progressive results for all.
