The Angolan Executive will present various financing actions that can be adjusted to the needs of national startups, taking into account the different stages they are in.

The information was revealed by the national director for Economy and Business Development, Nédio dos Santos, speaking at the usual briefing of the Ministry of Economy and Planning (MEP), reiterating that the respective actions will be presented at the 2nd edition of “Angola Startup Summer”, to be held from April 27th to 29th under the motto “Innovation and technology as vectors for the immersion of startups in Angola”.

The manager underlined that the objective of this action, by the Government, is to encourage the emergence of new startups in the country, improve entrepreneurial literacy, mature ideas so that “they have the necessary robustness, so that when they go to the market they can have the normal cycle of startups, as well as connect startups so that they can create exchanges of services".

BUT: Taxes and lack of funding among the main problems of Angolan startups

According to Nédio dos Santos, the objective is to finance two companies via venture capital, in a universe of 200 startups segmented between projects under the tutelage of some universities or institutes, incubators, accelerators and what are now companies, among others.

"MEP will challenge startups in order to find a set of solutions that can improve the parking system at the level of the province of Luanda and the creation of a QR code, through which customers can make payments in restaurants without human interaction”, he reiterated.
