Grand Africa and Afreximbank create training cycle to train young African entrepreneurs

O African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank) announced funding for Grand Africa Initiative (GAIN) to train 200 young African entrepreneurs on intra-African entrepreneurship and trade over a three-month period, starting in July 2022.

The formative cycle GAIN-Afreximbank Masterclass on Entrepreneurship and Intra-African Trade It will be a three-month program designed to equip participants from across the continent with the skills to grow and expand their businesses across borders.

Candidates will also get insights insights into existing business opportunities, while developing trade finance management skills integral to building partnerships that take advantage of opportunities in the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA). A diverse panel of experts from around the world will provide technical advice and financial insights to training participants.

In addition, the program will aim to increase inclusiveness in the implementation of the AfCFTA through interventions that support young African entrepreneurs, women and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).

Program participants will be selected from among eligible applicants from all countries in Africa, where interested parties can apply for the program by accessing www.grandafrica.org ou www.bit.ly/GAINAFREXIM2.

Entrepreneurs who apply are expected to meet the following criteria:

Businesses must be registered;
The business has been in operation for 2 years or more;
The business must be based in Africa;
Businesses must be owned by young people of African descent;
