Hackers steal millions of dollars using Malware

Hackers

The news is troubling as it involves one of (almost) everyone's priorities: money.

It was discovered that hackers gained access to more than XNUMX banks, in several countries stole large sums. This information was confirmed by a report from the Kaspersky, a well-known digital security company, which has reported on the existence of several attacks on banks since 2013. The main countries affected are Russia, Japan, the United States. The hackers used malware to view the day-to-day operations of bank employees.

The attack was carried out in a “simple” way: the hackers sent an email, which had “hidden” the malware Carbanak.
Bank employees who opened the email and perhaps installed Malware (without knowing it), granted access to hackers, who kept the record of everything that was written (and if necessary, the malware took screenshots). With all this data, hackers remotely accessed the machines of bank employees and made the transfers they wanted…

Result: 300 million USD were stolen using this strategy. But Kaspersky is already warning that the real value could triple.

Is any Angolan bank on the list? As soon as Kaspersky makes this report public, we will find out ...
