Russian hackers block French parliament website

The website of the French National Assembly was blocked this Monday morning, due to an attack claimed by the pro-Russian hacking group NoName, in response to France's support for Ukraine.

The page of the French parliament even revealed the indication that it is “under maintenance” due to having been the target of a “denial of service” attack (when a very high number of access requests leads to saturation).

The computer attack was claimed by the group of pro-Russian 'hackers' NoName057(16), which in a message on the social network Telegram justified the act by the support that France has given to the Ukrainian resistance in the face of the Russian invasion.

"We decided to repeat our recent trip to France, where the protests against Macron, who decided not to care about the French and continues to serve the neo-Nazis in Ukraine, are not calming down.“, wrote the group on the Telegram channel.

This group of computer hackers also claims an attack against the 'online' page of the Senate, so far without visible effect.

The NoName group is one of about 80 pro-Russian hacker movements that target institutions in countries that support Ukraine, including Western European countries, explained Nicolas Quintin, chief analyst at Thales' threat analysis team. which brings together around 50 experts from around the world.

France, one of their regular targets, has suffered several such attacks recently: last week, hackers blocked the Paris Airports website and the website of the General Directorate of Internal Security.

NoName, established in March 2022, which communicates in Russian and English, carries out “denial of service” attacks, a basic model of cyberattacks.
